Fairney Fields

At Fairney Fields, our goal is to build a recognisable type of Speckle Park cattle—functional, maternal females with presence, exceptional movement, and the longevity to perform in real-world conditions.

Our background in cattle runs deep. Richard grew up on Brindley Park Feedlot in Roma, while Chelsie was raised in the United States on a dual club calf and commercial Maine Anjou × Angus operation. With a shared passion for livestock and a long-term goal of returning to farm life, we began laying the foundations of Fairney Fields in 2019, purchasing our first block in late 2024.

We were introduced to the Speckle Park breed in 2023 and, truthfully, it was their look that first caught our attention. Some producers may not like to admit that—but if you’re going to be chasing something around the paddock, it might as well be pretty. What kept us in the breed, however, was its balance of phenotype and functionality.

One of the things we enjoy most about the breed is the variation in colour patterns—no two calves are the same, and every joining brings an element of anticipation.
